Building an Inclusive City for All
I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive city where every resident receives equal service, regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation.
Accessibility
I want to extend my gratitude to the residents who have raised important concerns about improving accessibility in Saskatoon. Progress has been made, such as adding curb cuts to enhance wheelchair access at some intersections. However, there is still more that needs to be done. I am dedicated to supporting these improvements.
It is crucial that all civic spaces feature accessible washrooms. Also, that we address parking challenges for drivers with disabilities. Although parking scarcity impacts much of our ward, I will prioritize improving access and accommodations for residents with disabilities to create a community that is inclusive, accessible, and welcoming for all.
Supporting Marginalized Groups
I am committed to making Saskatoon a welcoming environment for all groups. I regularly attend and support events that celebrate and uplift marginalized communities. I will advocate for their unique needs. Marginalized groups often experience disproportionate safety concerns. I believe the recent investments in increased policing will help address this. I believe a sensitive, inclusive police force plays an essential role in ensuring community safety.
Additionally, I support creating a well-rounded team of first-line responders—integrating police officers with wellness professionals—to enhance the support and services available to all community members. By working together, we can build a city that values the safety, dignity, and well-being of every resident.
